Beaver Dam Real Estate: The Deals are Waiting for You!

Beaver Dam, Wisconsin is a town of 15,000 people and is close enough to farmlands and three urban areas to act as a suburb to some larger, well-known cities. It's located within a little over thirty minutes of Madison, ninety minutes northwest of Milwaukee, and two and a half hours north of Chicago, Illinois.

Its suburban splendor is joined by the priority of the county to create parks; there are already ten city parks located along the Beaver Dam Lake and several other beautiful locations. It's clearly a residential dream to live in Beaver Dam.

Beaver Dam real estate and the town proper looked nothing like they do today until the area's economy caused a few enormous changes. The city didn't have a lake until the 1800's, when the Beaver River was dammed to create energy for milling. This eventually formed a pool that turned into the Beaver Dam Lake, now a source of great pleasure for the entire community.

Beaver Dam was incorporated in the 1850's and given its official city charter in 1856. In its earliest days the area became home to breweries and other industries of the day—from wagon-making to milling cotton and flour. This set the tone for the town's current make up.

Today, Beaver Dam Lake is 6,000 acres in size. The town's commercial interests are largely retail. Civic leaders also proudly preserve many historic areas like the restored Vita Park Resort Pavilion originally built in 1880 and a turn-of-the-century train station, in addition to a whole host of buildings that are maintained for their architectural beauty and historical value.

Beaver Dam offers a healthy mixture of commercial and residential properties. Most business includes stores such as a Wal-Mart and Kohl's, but also businesses like the local Celestial Coffee Company. Even with the mega chains, small commercial interests have a chance in Beaver Dam. The Celestial Coffee Company is a two-floor, 5,000 square-foot venture that offers soaps, scents, oils, candles, and gifts of all kinds and has done well here.

So if commercial or residential properties are interesting to you, there's a lot of opportunity to find your own niche here in Beaver Dam by investing in a franchise or buying a residential property. Beaver Dam has access to quite a few urban areas, but it's able to maintain itself as a haven with a much more pleasant pace of life and has opportunities to offer.
