Success Stories - Kent P.
Kent was in his final year of college when he first started thinking about real estate investing. But it wasn't anything that came to him in the classroom—instead, it was something he observed from his townhouse apartment.
"I'd watch this very distinguished gentleman come up every month and collect the rents. He had a really nice car and a really nice property. I could tell he knew what he was doing. I wanted to be like that someday," Kent explains. "I've had it in mind ever since. "
Kent went on to pursue a career in law enforcement but, still wanting to be that townhouse owner, he also purchased Carleton's course and immediately began studying.
"I didn't just throw it in the closet and forget about it," Kent says, explaining how he laid out a series of goals for achieving financial independence. "If you don't have goals, you're going to work the rest of your life for someone who does have goals."
