Yonkers NY Help Needed Home Needs Repair Fixup 3 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0  
My dads home is for sale.
His business has lost income and bills are hard to pay.
He needs to sell quickly and at the same time taxes are over due.
It would be nice if there was a way to get some grant money to fix the
house and then rent out for a higher rent to save the house.
It would also be great to just sell the house to a realtor for a fair market price.
My dad could then pay all his bills and thne find another home or just rent forward.
Anyone who can help?

Sorry to hear about your dad's misfortune. If you are looking for grant money, google real estate grants new york. I don't know specifically what federal grants are available, or even if any local ones are, but its worth a try.
Or, check the ads in the paper for "I buy houses" ads. Or advertise the home/business on craigslist.com. (its free)
From the information I've seen on the internet, New York conducts tax lien sales and tax deed sales. You might want to learn a little bit more about this, since you mentioned the taxes were delinquent. I don't want to scare you, but depending on how delinquent they are, it could be a problem. Taxes are senior liens to the first mortgages, and a tax foreclosure could happen even if the mortgage is current.
